I think a neat feature would be that some races are stronger in hand-to-hand combat than others, and a space shuttle that requires space flight tech 2 and energy tech 2. Since a spaceyard is farily expensive for a new race there should be a 1 launch space shuttle that can carry 1 person on it.

you should make it so that you can't crash into the sun like in planetoid 2. That or give some A.I. so the other race will manuver around it... despite how funny it is to watch them launch ship after ship to a planet on the other side of the sun and watch them crash and burn!

oh and @augst6 - you can actually change the temperature on the planets right now using the heat/cold missiles on a planet, does no damage that I have noticed. Fun to launch several heat missiles to destroy an enemies civilization!
