well. it's okay for a start. I think you should make a smaller sprite (so he doesn't get stuck on a wall) and you should change the music (game maker doesn't support only midi. it supports wav and mp3's too.) also instead of having it move you should make it jump to a position when pressed left right up or down. If you gave me a gmk I could make the Character move better.

What really sucks is that I was making this exact same game about a year ago but never actually posted it on the internet. also I lost it when my old computer crashed which also sucks badly. glad to see someone else had the same idea.
