Remember, if you don't get something you can always ask. Oh yeah and start off with simple games first. when I got the Pro version I immediatly started working on an fps and I didn't get anything about it. Do a platform or something until you get used to gamemaker

The best way to learn gamemaker is to download a tutorial. But be careful not to make you game too much like one, or else people will give it one out of six because they think that you made a tutorial ripoff.

Just start off easy with gamemaker. I have only been using the pro edition for a year, and I immediatly started off trying to make 3D games. I though gamemaker was a ripoff and I left it for a couple of months.
