Glad some people still like playing the game despite the lack of updates! I generally made this to learn and to give friends of mine some time of enjoyment during the winter season. I hesitated to release the game in public as I wish more time could be spent with it to make it better. Some things I had planned to add are not implemented at all (such as a proper tutorial, magical abilities and an elaborated plot). However, this doesn't mean that there'll never be an update :).

@Everyone: First off, thank you all for playing :)! The server's internet connection is down due to a storm in the area, but it's estimated to be online again later today (I have to temporarily transfer all data to another location). That's weird! Can you login at all? Because I haven't heard of anyone having this problem, except when their ping is extremely high (3000ms+).

The updater is not made with GM, but with C#. You should be able to create one in GM too. There are several DLL:s for Game Maker that simplifies downloading files, such as http://gmc.yoyogames.com/index.php?showtopic=430676. Good luck!
