By the way, since this was uploaded I identified a glitch in the horizontal speed when bouncing off walls (sometimes you don't stop). I have fixed it, I think.

Thanks Nailog, the comic book page idea is a good one, and the other suggestion is certainly something I've been considering. My knowledge of GML is still limited but I'll see if I can do it. :-)

I played this for about 10 minutes but just couldn't find a way to beat level 2. :-( I don't know whether that reflects badly on myself, however.

It's pretty good! Though you might want to add something that changes Sonic's sprite to standing when he hits the ground without any keys being pressed, because he stays in a ball. Since it's your first game, I am not concerned with the static speed or anything. Nice job!
