to make the bullet look like its coming out of the barrel, its not too complicated. when the character shoots, the bullet is usually created at a position relative to the character right? well, what you need to do is find out the gun barrel cooridinates on the sprite of the character. then when the player shoots, create the bullet at relative position x(the x coordinate of the sprite) and y (y coordinate of the sprite). hope this helps!
