    Can you tell me what in the controls are bad? (be specific, the movement, the the shooting?) And how long did you play this game, cuz i can show you that you most certainly do not have to stay on the road.

Make the enemy's face you. You can do this with script image_angle=point_direction(x,y,player.x,player.y) And draw some background, becuz sometimes it looks like ur standing on place...
