About your first comment, yes, it does matter who you play as. It creates the world of the game. If you're playing a game, you want to give meaning to it. Playing as a lightbulb in a vast tropical jungle wouldn't make much sense. Now, playing as a monkey is a vast tropical jungle would make sense. Playing as a snowman makes sense in one way, but the whole scheme of it makes no sense.

It's boring, and I don't have a game for the competition, so I'm not on anyone's side. I'm emphasizing the story, interaction, and gameplay. It's NOTHING new. You play as a snowman. Just like every other winter game in history. Or maybe a penguin. Same deal. You're name is Mr Snowman. You're saving the world. Completely unoriginal. Read my review.

And maybe the other reason is because it's not original and not that good. There are no instructions, the graphics aren't that great, and the physics are off. I got to the "end" of the first level, and it just restarted me??? Not that good of game. It also makes the screen resolution really gross. And I'm not just saying this because I don't like Sonic, etc.

I'm not gonna be too harsh, because my games were worse when I was 8. It's a good start, just keep learning Game Maker and polish everything up. Make instructions (that look formal) and a win screen with your score, maybe an animation when you die, background graphics, etc. You know what I mean. And also, try to use original ideas: Spiderman was already made, and by the competition rules, you can't use other peoples graphics/ideas (movies, comics, etc).
