same here, and why black ops? also tried the first level twice and i couldn't beat it so i gave up. I'd say there's not enough control over the ball and how it bounces off the platform to be able to maneuver it properly to avoid the x block. if you draw everything in the gamemaker sprite editor and optionally add some music and mabye make the bar you control a semi circle (so the player can bounce the ball in multiple directions) then it will be a lot better. don't give up!
